Carl Kins is an internationally respected beer writer, educator, and advocate with decades of experience in the global beer industry. His passion for beer began in his native Belgium, where he visited his first brewery at 17 and quickly became immersed in beer’s rich history, production methods, and diverse styles. Over the years, Kins has written extensively for international beer magazines, drawing from his visits to hundreds of breweries around the world and a deep knowledge built through both study and hands-on experience.
In addition to his writing, Kins has been a prominent voice in beer consumer advocacy, working at both national and European levels to support diversity in brewing, fair taxation, and small brewery preservation. A long-time judge at prestigious competitions like the World Beer Cup—often dubbed the “Olympics of Beer”—he values the global exchange of knowledge and insight that judging facilitates.
