Tasty IPA by Manhattan Brewing Co. was judged as BJCP category 21A, American IPA, per the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines.
This beer has a classic American hop aroma, with resin, pine and light citrus notes. It’s prominent but not overpowering. Underneath there is a clean malt base with very light caramel. Tasty IPA pours a deep golden color that’s not clear, and it has a dense, tall, white head. The flavor aligns with the aroma. It carries a very firm bitterness with accompanying resinous and herbal hop flavors. The balance is decidedly hoppy, with malt playing only a supporting role. The malt flavor is clean and, again, has a light caramel note. Still, this beer hides its 6.5% ABV very well. There is only a trace of ethanol flavor in the finish. Overall, this beer maintains a smooth impression with medium body and medium-high carbonation. Tasty IPA certainly lives up to its name.
