Consolation Prize opens with an overall restrained aroma with a balance of caramel, grapefruit, and generic herbaceous and floral notes. Although the aroma leaves a bit to be desired for a double IPA, the appearance is spot on. The light amber beer is only partially hazy and sits beneath a massive, persistant ivory head.
