Hitt’s Hill Pilsner is an American Lager brewed by Flying Lion Brewing, judged as BJCP Category 1B., American Lager.
A light, yet bright, grainy malt character shapes the aroma profile of this beer. It is simple, pleasant, and familiar for the American Lager style. It pours clear and straw in color with a sudsy, crackly white head. The grainy malt character continues into this beer’s flavor. It also has a firm bitterness with complementary notes of mineral and sulfur. It is refreshingly dry and crisp. As it warms up, light herbal hop flavor is detectable, with other characteristics remaining stable.
True to style, this beer has a medium-light body and medium-high carbonation. Overall, perhaps this beer is slightly too bitter for a classic American Lager, but that is a minor technicality. What matters is that this beer is delicious.
