21st Amendment Brewery and Fieldwork Brewing Merge to Create New Company: Field Amendment Brewing Co.

21st Amendment Brewery and Fieldwork Brewing has announced a merger between the two companies that results in a new company called Field Amendment Brewing Co. Full details are below.

San Leandro and Berkeley, CA -- The 21st Amendment Brewery and Fieldwork Brewing are excited to announce today the merger of two iconic Bay Area breweries. After working behind the scenes for several months, the two companies are more than thrilled to bring this news to the craft beer community. Craft beer has gone through many changes over the last few years and this announcement brings excitement to the Bay Area as well as the vast craft beer community.

The joint entity "Field Amendment Brewing Company" will hit the ground running with new and exciting styles that showcase the two brewery's strengths. Fieldwork is set to add fresh watermelon to their entire craft beer product line, re-tooling every aspect to embrace this merger.

The 21st Amendment in kind has already trialed and brewed new batches using distinct and boutique hops into Hell or High Pulp Galaxy Watermelon Juice and El Sully Mexican Hazy Citra Hopped Lager for national release into all 35 states they currently distribute.

Barry Braden, Fieldwork CEO, always looking toward the future says, "This merger will likely lead to a shortage of watermelons in California. We have been working with growers to forecast for this inevitability. Also, they'll definitely be a lockup on reclaimed redwood lumber as we expand into markets with new tap rooms."

Nico Freccia, 21st Amendment COO and Co-Founder, says "We have worked together before on projects like our collaboration beer 'A Terrible Idea.' So this merger is a natural extension of our relationship with Fieldwork. I see this as a 'I wanna get my peanut butter into your chocolate,' moment in craft beer. I dig it."

Shaun O'Sullivan, 21st Amendment Brewmaster and Co-Founder, "This idea came about when I would secretly bring watermelon slices into Fieldwork's Berkeley location and put them into my IPA. One time Barry caught me doing that, we had words, but then talked through how this seemingly terrible idea made sense for both companies."

To celebrate the merger Fieldwork is set to release a 16 ounce-four pack limited edition release of Double Dry Hopped Watermelon Pulp this week at all seven of their joint Bay Area tap locations including the 21st Amendment’s San Francisco Brewpub and San Leandro Tap Room.
