pFriem Family Brewers Brewmaster & Co-Founder Josh Pfriem Talks Golden IPA

We spoke with pFriem Family Brewers Brewmaster & Co-Founder Josh Pfriem about Golden IPA.

BC: Who came up with this beer’s recipe?
This beer was a group effort by our brewery management team. We wanted to create a beer that was a bright, golden, super fruity and a hoppy West Coast IPA.

BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
The base malt for this beer is simply Rahr Two-Row Pale. This creates a beautifully simple base that allows the hops to leap off of the palate with every sip.

BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
As with most beers at pFriem, we simply call them what they are. This beer has beautiful golden hues that allow the hops to leap out of the glass.

BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
This would be a great beer to session on a desert island, but there are others that are competing for that spot.

BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
Bright golden, watermelon, citrus, papaya, kiwi, raspberries and melon airheads.

BC: Do you know a story – or have a personal story – that revolves around this beer?
We originally brewed this beer for our sixth anniversary party!
