Owen Ogletree
Owen Ogletree is a BJCP National Beer Judge, the founder of Brewtopia Events, and a respected voice in the craft beer world. He’s judged at top-tier competitions like the Great American Beer Festival and Great British Beer Festival, and shares his expertise through various beer-related outlets, Brewtopia.info as well as beer tours across Europe.
A former AP Biology teacher and science specialist, Owen brings a sharp educational edge to beer. He’s passionate about classic styles, cask-conditioned ales, yeast metabolism, and off-flavor training—and loves helping others explore the science behind great beer.
Owen owned Brewtopia homebrew shop in the 90s, kickstarting a lifelong journey in brewing, writing, and teaching. A decorated homebrewer and member of the North American Guild of Beer Writers, he continues to inspire through festivals, classes, and global beer adventures.
