Groovy Juice

Groovy Juice by Urban South Brewery was judged as a BJCP Style 28C, Wild Specialty Beer.

This is that beer for hot sticky summer afternoons when you just want to do nothing else but sit and watch the river flow. This light-bodied, spritzy beer pours hazy pink under a moderate white cap with good retention. All the parts work well together. Raspberries lead the aromas and flavors with dash of sweetness in the middle and a tart lemony finish with a slight astringent touch from the berries. It has just enough sweetness to take the rough edges off the tartness and finishes semi-dry. The malt provides background support, leaving the beer character intact and keeping it tasting like a beer and not like a soda or a fermented raspberry cider.
