The Beer Connoisseur® magazine & online is excited to welcome Snow Capped Cider of Grand Mesa, Colorado as the publication's newest Cidery Trade Member. At an elevation of 6130 feet, it is one of the highest-elevation orchards in the world.
In 2014, the Williams family, a revered name in the orchard business with a rich 107-year history spanning five generations, embarked on a remarkable journey to craft Snow Capped Ciders, a product born from their exceptional fruit harvested in the heart of Colorado on a 500-acre orchard. Drawing on their generations of experience and a deep-rooted love for quality food and beverages, they artfully blended traditional orchard-based English and French styles, steering clear of artificial sugars to achieve a pure, fresh taste in their cider-specific fruit.
As pioneers in innovative growing techniques within the Colorado fruit-growing landscape, the Williams Family Orchards boasts over 100 apple varieties and 40 peach varieties, including heritage styles and cider-specific fruits. Their relentless dedication to maximizing the natural flavors and qualities of each fruit has cemented their position as trailblazers in the industry.
Today, Ty, Kari and the Williams family's fifth generation continue this fruit-growing legacy, with Ty managing fruit-growing practices and cider production, while Kari oversees sales and marketing. Their orchards, located in the picturesque Surface Creek Valley at the base of Grand Mesa, Colorado, benefit from the unique elevation and climate, resulting in a distinctly crisp and balanced cider that embodies the true essence of Colorado.
Join the Williams family in celebrating their passion for fruit-growing and enjoy the authentic taste of their labor in every sip of Snow Capped Ciders. As their slogan says: "Drink What We Grow – and Enjoy!"
