Once upon a midnight dreary
while I pondered peaked and beery
over a many quaint and curious
volume of Beer Connoisseur;
While I nodded, nearly hammered,
suddenly there came a clamor
as of something violently yammering,
yammering in my refrigerator.
‘Tis my imagination, I muttered,
coupled with high ABVs, only this and nothing more…

Still the clangor grew in volume,
and my head swam with more humulone.
I could swear the yammering just got louder,
louder in my refrigerator.
I couldn’t bear such squawks and rackets
emanating from my old Kenmore.
With the handle torn asunder, I stood and stared
at my beer-filled refrigerator.
Not my imagination, I muttered,
must be the high ABVs, only this and nothing more…

and since no decision would be harder
than what brew to slake my 
endless thirst for such liquids pure,
I popped a top, and started slurping
pausing rarely – just for burping –
when finally my eyes befell the truth
beers inspired by my verses.
