Baxter Brewing Co. Debuts Prost Secco

Baxter Brewing Co. January News

Baxter Brewing Co. in Lewiston, ME has debuted a Sour Ale that is meant to bridge the gap between lighter sour beers such as Gose and Berliner Weisse and sparkling wine. The beer is called Prost Secco.

Other news from the brewery was found in a release, which you can peruse below:

WHEN BEER & WINE COLLIDE
Drawing inspiration from two of the world’s greatest fermentation traditions, German Sour Ales and Sparkling Wines, we crafted this genre crossing concoction we are calling Prost Secco. Kettle soured and then blended with a wheat centric ale fermented with Chardonnay grapes, peaches and pears, this one-of-a-kind beer is crisp and tart while showing beautiful depth of flavor and aromatics. This unexpected intersection of cultures opens exciting possibilities on the flavor frontier.

MONUMENTAL
We recently had the honor of sponsoring an amazing project meant to showcase the great beauty that is home to us.
The end result was so incredibly on par with our brand and all the areas of Maine we hold near and dear to our hearts, we couldn't help but share it with our readers. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

GETTING TO KNOW: John Krias
Getting to know the team that is Baxter and some of the quirky things that make us unique. We interviewed each employee so that you our greater beer family could get to know something more about our craft masters and the things that we enjoy outside of the mill walls.

Whether it is canning on our production line, filling kegs, brewing up something special with his special Krias kick, or representing us at brewfests all over our markets, John has solidified himself as an asset to the Baxter team and strives to continually expand on his knowledge.

Krias can often be found with his wife Sarah, enjoying much of the Maine Craft Beer scene and the many offerings from well beyond that! They even went to Greece this past year and most of their vacations are beer centric focused to search out the newest trend, hottest pepper or darkest barrel aged brew that he can bring back and enjoy with his Baxter family.
