Bear Republic Seasonal Releases Available Now Through March

Bear Republic Brewing Co. Cafe Racer 15 Double IPA

Bear Republic Brewing Co. in Cloverdale, California has announced the return of two seasonal favorites from January to March 2018.

Both Cafe Racer 15, a 9.75 percent ABV Double IPA and Big Bear Black Stout, a hybrid American Stout and Russian Imperial Stout, will be available in 22-oz. bombers and six-packs of 12-oz. bottles.

Cafe Racer combines over 100 IBUs into that already impressively high ABV content and Big Bear Black Stout employs rich elements of molasses and brown sugar to provide drinkers with a delectable sweetness without getting too cloying.

Here is the full release from Bear Republic:

Café Racer 15
ABV: 9.75% –  IBUs: 100+ –  Color: Golden  –  Double IPA
Untappd: 4 stars – Beer Advocate: 4.23 out of 5
Silver Medal winner at the 2012 Great American Beer Festival® in the Imperial India Pale Ale category.

Tasting Notes:
Featured Hops: Citra, Amarillo, Cascade, and Chinook
Malts: 2-row barley and honey
Yeast: BRBC Ale Yeast

Overall: Café Racer 15 features aromas of bright citrus and resinous pine from the generous use of Citra, Amarillo, Cascade, and Chinook hops which are complimented by a dry malt finish. The result is a high revving, Double IPA that is loud and assertive, much like the rebellious street racers who inspired it. Never ride alone...

Available in 22 oz. bottles, six-packs, and draft

Big Bear Black Stout
ABV: 8.1% –  IBUs: 55 –  Color: Black  –  American Stout
Untappd: 4 stars – Beer Advocate: 4.13 out of 5
Silver Medal winner at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival® in the American-Style Stout category.
Gold Medal winner at the 2002 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

Tasting Notes:
Featured Hops: Centennial and Cascade
Malts: American pale, crystal, roasted barley, black, molasses, and brown sugar
Yeast: BRBC Ale Yeast

Overall: Big Bear is a big, black, stout you can really sink your teeth into. Can you taste the Louisiana brown molasses and golden brown sugar? They add to the mouthfeel and compliment the extensive malt bill. The bold, roasty, caramel malt flavor is balanced by Centennial and Cascade hops. Too big for an American Stout and not quite a Russian Imperial, Big Bear Black Stout will warm you through and through-it's a great way to start or finish any evening.

Available in 22 oz. bottles, six-packs, and draft
