Pipeworks Brewing Co. Releases Four New Beers

Pipeworks Brewing Co. Releases Three New Beers

Pipeworks Brewing Co. in Chicago, Illinois has announced the release of four new beers.

The beers, which are explored in detail by the brewery below, feature a Double IPA brewed with honey, apricots and Citra hops, an ultra-hazy Pale Ale, a premium German Pilsner and a fascinating collaboration with Beijing's Great Leap Brewing that features honey, sichuan peppercorns and Styrian Wolf hops.

The full details of each beer are below.

~ Pale Ale + Mosaic + Amarillo + Cryo Mosaic hops ~

Attention all you supremium hypster beasts - (you know who you are) - the hype train is leaving the building once again! This beer is lush and plush and we're happy to be brewing it for the second time. We're brewing a slightly larger batch this time around and we'll be able to bring the beer to more stores - it just went too fast last time around. It will be extremely fresh when it hits The Dojo.

6.5% ABV
4 packs of 16 oz cans
Release in The Dojo on Friday 12/07

~ Devil Firefish ~
~ IIPA brewed with puréed apricots, honey, and Citra hops ~

The apricots, wildflower honey, and Citra hops are all swimming down the same stream in this harmonious and smooth IIPA. The hops accent the apricot and the apricot brings out some of the best characteristics of the Citra hops. It's just a good beer.

~ Collaboration with Great Leap Brewing ~
When our good friends from Beijing, China visited us, we of course had to brew a collaboration! Putting our heads together we brewed an IPA with honey, sichuan peppercorns, and Styrian Wolf hops. The peppercorns were brought over from Beijing and add an incredible fruity, eucalyptus flavor that we really dig!
Last March, we visited their first brewery located in the Beijing hutongs, which are alleys and streets formed by the traditional courtyards of Beijing. After many of their delicious beers, one of us happened to get a spontaneous haircut (as one does, right?!).
It's the tradition of Great Leap Brewery to give their beers a name in English and a name in Chinese.  The Chinese name for this beer is pronounced "long tai tou", which has a literal meaning of “dragon looking up” but is the name for the traditional haircut that you get in China for Chinese New Year.
All backstory aside - it's a tasty beer and we're really thankful that our friends introduced us to some exciting ingredients.

~ Pipeworks Premium Pilsner ~
~ "The Beer You Can Drink" ~
When we first set out to make a pilsner, we didn't want to half-ass it. We have too much respect and love for the style. If we were going to make a pilsner, we were going to do it as right as we possible could. That means carefully selecting malts, hops, and making sure the yeast has time to do its thing in tanks. Every time we make this beer, we make sure it gets time time it needs in tanks. We want each to be as "premium" as the last. We're thrilled to once again offer a fresh batch of Pipeworks Premium Pilsner. We're also thrilled to be able to offer this beer in cities and states outside of Chicago, IL!
