What inspired this beer in the first place?
For America’s 250th birthday, we wanted to brew a beer that felt timeless and distinctly Arizonan: easy-drinking, sunshine-ready, and made for sharing.
How would you describe this beer to someone who has never had it before?
AZ250 Arizona Lager is classic, crisp, and crushable, with a clean malt character, subtle hop balance, and a dry finish that keeps you coming back for another sip.
What was the hardest part of getting it right?
As brewers, there’s always a temptation to add “just a little something extra.” The challenge with AZ250 was embracing simplicity: using traditional ingredients, dialing in the brewing process, and letting clean fermentation and balance do the work.
Was there a moment when you realized this beer had real staying power?
Seeing the growing excitement for the beer at events and venues has been amazing.
What is the ideal food pairing with this beer?
Sonoran hot dogs, carne asada tacos, anything grilled over mesquite, and another AZ250 on standby.
Is there a memorable story about this beer that still makes you smile, cringe, or shake your head?
Seeing Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes celebrating Arizona’s 114th birthday with an AZ250 shortly after launch was definitely a cool moment for the team.
When is the best time and place for this beer?
AZ250 Arizona Lager is built for backyard cookouts, lake days, tailgates, and desert sunsets. It’s the kind of beer that fits naturally wherever people are getting together to celebrate. Cheers to 250 years of the U.S.A.!
