Lewis Kent, current beer mile world record holder has stepped into the role of spokesman for the National Beer Mile circuit, which organizes beer mile competitions around the country.
Kent, who set the record in 2015 with a time of 4:47, will make his first appearance May 21 at the Cuyahoga Fairgrounds in Cleveland, Ohio.
Though rules can vary, this form of the challenge involves chugging a beer and running a quarter mile track four times in succession. Of course, vomiting is penalized.
Kent's success has landed him a six-figure endorsement deal with Brooks Running Shoes along with appearances on ESPN, the Ellen Show and in Sports Illustrated.
“We’re thrilled to have Lewis Kent as the face of National Beer Mile," says Rob Goldstein, a founding partner of the event series. "His record breaking performances and his quality of character are representative of the persona our brand is setting as we strive to become the gold standard of beer mile racing.”
