Seedstock Brewery in Denver, Colorado has announced the release of a new beer called Bohemian Barn Beer, which is brewed with Vienna malt and Saaz hops. Further details on the beer can be found below.
On Tues., December 2, Seedstock Brewery will release its Bohemian Barn Beer. This pre-lager lager, fermented cold, was the most popular beer in Prague before lagers. The Seedstock Bohemian Barn Beer is sunshine copper in color with an off-white head. It has a malty-sweet aroma, with a slight hint of melon. It gets its sweet and rich mouthfeel from the Vienna malt, but the Saaz hops really shine through with a spicy, peppery finish.
We brewed this beer with our Great, Great Grandpa Johann in mind. When he immigrated from what is now the Czech Republic and settled in Nebraska, one of the first things he did was set up a brewery in his barn. Our Bohemian Barn Beer is a beer that we imagine he might have brewed. It is brewed simply – using only Vienna malt and Saaz hops.
A video provides a more behind-the-scenes look at the beer:
Local beer writer John Frank will be in the taproom signing copies of his new book, "Beer Lover's Colorado: Best Breweries, Brewpubs and Beer Bars", which features a homebrew recipe of the Seedstock Bohemian Ale on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 7-8PM. (Sidenote: this makes the perfect holiday gift for the craft beer lover in your life!)
