Unibroue out of Quebec, Canada has announced new additions to its smartphone app that allow users to experience a cutting-edge virtual reality showcase right on users' smartphones.
All it takes is a user to open the Unibroue app and scan the labels for two of Unibroue's most popular beers, La Fin du Monde Belgian-style Triple and Megadeth collaboration À Tout le Monde dry-hopped Saison, and the labels come alive within the app.
In the case of À Tout le Monde, the label will come to life with a sneak preview of Megadeth's upcoming new album with an unreleased riff from guitarist and singer Dave Mustaine.

North America – Unibroue, Canada’s distinguished producers of Belgian-style and refermented ales, is excited to announce the addition of two new cutting-edge virtual reality experiences with its Unibroue App, launched earlier this year. For the first time, smartphones and tablets now become a portal for beer-related VR experiences simply by scanning a Unibroue bottle label and watching it come alive!
La Fin du Monde Belgian-style Triple and Megadeth collaboration À Tout le Monde dry-hopped Saison are the first two beer labels to come alive within the app.
With La Fin du Monde, drinkers can watch “the legend” of the beer come to life in the label. They can then participate in an in-app game where they learn more about this Unibroue flagship beer, and along the way encounter opportunities to win prizes and receive cash-back discounts.
When the À Tout le Monde label is scanned, fans are treated to a sneak peek of Megadeth’s new album with an unreleased guitar riff from the band’s frontman Dave Mustaine. A quiz will also test the drinker’s knowledge of the beer and the Megadeth song it’s named after.
“We are hoping that making the labels come alive will bring a little bit of fun and top of mind to our world-class beers,” says Jean-Yves Lacombe, Trade Marketing Manager for Unibroue. “Our partnership with Megadeth is especially exciting as we are able to introduce fans to À Tout le Monde, a two-time Saison of the Year award winner, and provide an exclusive riff through the Unibroue App.”
The new virtual reality experiences, likely the first of their kind for beer, works anywhere in the United States – all one needs is the Unibroue App downloaded to a smart phone or tablet and a bottle label to scan. At participating draft-only locations, specially curved bottle-shaped table tents are also available to scan.
The Unibroue App is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. In-app notifications provide details about future themed opportunities featuring new Unibroue beers. Users may also use the Unibroue Finder to easily locate their favorite Unibroue beers, including the recently released Ale Gâteau Forêt Noire (Black Forest Cake Ale), anywhere they are sold in the United States.
