Games nights are a great way to socialise with friends and get a little friendly competition going. You can hang out with your best mates, have a couple of great beers and maybe a little grub whilst getting a great game going.

The easiest way to go when it comes to games night food is to put out some finger food. This is food that everyone can eat with their hands so they can eat on the go and there’s no need for a big sit down dinner situation.

It makes the game night more casual and chilled rather than having a fancier meal prepared - and it’s a lot less hassle. You can put together finger food that are premade or pre prepared from a supermarket or make your own. The choice is up to you!

• BBQ

If the weather is lovely and there’s still a bit of summer clinging on, why not turn your games night into a BBQ? You could start with the BBQ portion of the evening in the late afternoon time and then as the sun goes down, the gaming can commence. 

It’s a great way to turn your gaming party into more of an event. You could even have kids games as well if there are people bringing their children along to the party. This is a great way to get more people involved and bond with each other. 

• Potluck

One of the best things to do when hosting a games night and you’re a bit strapped for cash is to arrange a potluck. This is when everyone brings a dish with them and you all share them around. 

If you don’t have a huge crowd coming, you could do a starter, main and dessert. Or if there’s a few more people coming, you could do multiples of each. It’s up to you how you arrange it and decide who brings what.
