Enjoying a beer over a game of blackjack

Beer is perfect for almost any occasion, and while cocktails are likely the go-to in casinos, beer would almost hit the spot at the blackjack table.

Enjoying a beer over a game of blackjack

Blackjack is the most popular game at both live and online casinos. When James Bond played the game in the criminally underrated License to Kill, he did so while casually sipping on his trademark vodka martini. However, not all of us are into cocktails, and blackjack is a game that demands concentration.

It’s a far better idea to steer clear of the spirits and enjoy a good quality beer while you play. We’ve come up with some perfect ideas. These might not be available in your local casino, but why not play from home at a recommended online casino? After all, the best live dealer online blackjack deserves to be accompanied by the best beer. One of these will certainly fit the bill.

Blackjack Hazy Little Session

The Blackjack Brewing Co has been operating out of the fashionable North Quarter in Manchester, UK since 2006. The brewery provides an extensive range of ales and lagers to both the hospitality trade and the retail market. Blackjack Brewing Co was an automatic inclusion here, but choosing just one of their beers was a more difficult challenge.

Hazy Little Session was our final choice. Described as an “all day drinker” the 3.8 percent ABV won’t get your card playing in a haze, but the grapefruit and passion fruit combined with Idaho7 hops provide a bitter refreshing finish.

New Ventures Blackjack and Hookers

Fans of Futurama will have a wry smile at the name of this beer. In a 1999 episode of the show, Bender said “I’m going to build my own theme park with blackjack and hookers” – the line has entered meme folklore.

Meanwhile, the fine people at the New Ventures brewery in Bozeman, Montana, have created Blackjack and Hookers ale. At 6.2 percent ABV, it packs a punch, and the malty flavor is not too sweet. In fact, it is dangerously drinkable!

Hunter’s Black Jack Stout

The Hunters Brewery lies in the Devonshire countryside in South West England. A family run business, it has been brewing since 2008.

Black Jack Stout is a rich, old-fashioned stout that is creamier than Guinness and has liquorish and coffee undertones. It’s almost like a meal in a bottle, so if you are planning a long session at the blackjack table, it’s just the thing to keep your energy levels where they need to be.

Jack Black’s Super Crush Cherry Ale

Let’s finish with a South African beer that is the perfect accompaniment to any game of chance. The Jack Black brewery opened in 2007 and changed the face of the craft beer scene in Cape Town forever. Often imitated but never equaled, this is another brewery from which we could happily have selected four or five great beers for our blackjack game.

This cherry ale got the nod eventually, as it is a truly unique ale, using the techniques we are familiar with for citrus ales but with cherries instead or lemons or oranges. The result is refreshing but at the same time not too sweet and with a rich finish.
