Exploring Famous Beers from Around the World

Beer, beer, beer... the world’s most beloved beverage. This impressive drink has been around for a long time, with the first production being recorded somewhere in as early as the year 2000 BCE. Since it’s so ancient, there is a lot of history that has accompanied the drink itself when we looked at on the global level. The truth is that beer is literally everywhere: in shops, bars, cafes, restaurants vending machines and so on.

The coolest thing about beer is that you can do anything while enjoying a sip of the drink. So, let’s say you are enjoying a sunny day at the park; (which is already a good vibe) having a cold beer makes it even better. Or, let’s say, you are staying at home and you decide to try live casino games on your computer; taking a few sips in between games makes this whole experience ten times better and more relaxing.

This is probably why so many people around the world like drinking beer, because amongst other things, it lifts up their mood and makes experiences better. However, it should be noted that different countries have their own brewing traditions, and thus cultivate several types of beers which are specific to their country. In today’s article, we will explore the world’s famous beers from around the globe.

Belgium: Trappist Ales and Lambics

We are off to a good start: good old Belgium is known as a beer paradise for beer lovers. Belgium’s most famous beers are Trappist beers, which, fun fact, are actually brewed by monks inside of monasteries. Some of the most famous ones include Chimay, La Trappe, Orval, Rochefort, Spencer, Tre Fontane, Tynt Meadow, Westmalle and so forth. The profits from the beers all go toward the monasteries and are used to maintain them.

Another well-known Belgian beer stile is lambic. This beer is created via a traditional brewing method that uses wild yeast and bacteria to ferment it. The flavors that are created have a specific and unique, sour taste, which people absolutely love. Types of this beer include gueuze, kriek and framboise. The selection of this style is wide and the prices range widely based on the maker.

Germany: Reinheitsgebot and Oktoberfest Celebrations

We all know Germany is on the top three of any lists about beers, don’t we? The country is so known for its love of beer that it even has festivals dedicated to them! One interesting fact from Germany is the law from 1516, which introduced the “Reinheitsgebot” or in English, the beer purity law, which basically restricts the brewing of beers to only contain water, malt, hops and yeast. The results are beers such as Rothaus Tannenzäpfle by Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothausbest, which is widely considered as the best German pilsner

As mentioned above, Germany loves beers, which is typified by its famed Oktoberfest celebration that occurs, fittingly, in October and praises all things beer. This feast gathers millions of beer lovers from around the world in Munich to try out terrific German-made brews.

Czech Republic: Pilsner Urquell and Czech-Style Lagers

Czech Republic couldn’t have missed this list by any means, because it is the homeland to the world’s first golden “Pilsner” which was first introduced back in 1842. Pilsner Urquell has since become the benchmark of the style. For those who have tried it, you know that there is both a taste of bitterness but also sweetness, and this is thanks to the mixture of malt and hops found in it.

Another beer-related fun fact about the Czech Republic are its lagers, which have a strong presence around the country. The top two lagers in the country are Budweiser Budvar and Staropramen, which are internationally renowned as top examples of the style.
