Beer drinkers like to laugh. What’s the funniest drinking story you can share with us?
I was in Ireland with a couple of friends once and we decided to go out to a pub on our first night. So we went and all got a pint of Guinness. One of my friends was a supreme lightweight, but we didn't expect that after one Guinness we would have to carry him home. He was yelling through the streets and we were trying to keep him quiet – it was crazy. If we ever bring it up, he always points out that he had the one Guinness plus a sip of mine. I suppose to him that meant he had two.

Who's the coolest person you've had a beer with?
I've shared a beer with former NFL player Aaron Taylor. Very interesting man even beyond his incredible history in the NFL. He is one of the kindest people I know and is a true family man. Aaron is a family friend, and he was one of the most supportive influences during my late mother's battle with cancer. I suppose this is a small thank you to him, as he's just truly remarkable.

What are a few of your favorite craft beers and why?
I really enjoy the kölsch style ale from Three Weavers Brewing Co.. I spent a lot of time in Germany, near Köln, and fell in love with kölsch as well as the mixture of it with Coca-Cola. I would also highly recommend anything from Belching Beaver Brewery, especially the Me So Honey Blonde Ale.

Do you have a favorite (craft) brewery or breweries and why?
I grew up in San Diego within walking distance of my favorite craft brewery, Pizza Port Brewing Co. I absolutely love that place, even now whenever I visit home my friends and I will go and pick up a sticky bun from a little cafe, walk to Pizza Port, grab a cold pint, then go for a nice walk on the beach. Nothing beats a good Beachy Belgian from Pizza Port, and the pizza's alright too.

Have you attended any beer events or festivals that you particularly enjoyed? What made them stand out?
Not too sure if it counts as a beer event but when I was in Germany I went to Karneval, which is this big festival with candy, liquor and beer. This was absolutely wild with people dressed up as animals and big parade floats. The streets where just flooded with people and there was no an impressive supply of good beer. I think back to a lot of festivals that I've been to in the states that just felt lackluster in comparison to the wild fun that was Karneval.

What projects do you have brewing?
I am currently working on a radio play version of Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life at the First Church of the Nazarene (in Hollywood, CA) in which I play Clarence, Harry and several other roles. I also just started rehearsals for Hamlet with the California Shakespeare Company in which I play Laertes. They're both great shows with great casts and anyone interested in seeing them can buy tickets at paznaz.org for It's a Wonderful Life. Hamlet will be performed at the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center in January.
