Beer and cannabis have long been linked in the popular imagination. With CBD now rising in popularity, many are even claiming that it is even more relaxing than standard cannabis – despite it lacking intoxicating attributes.
Do CBD vapes have a place at a bar, or is it best to stick with beer over CBD? As you’ll see, there’s no particular reason beer and CBD Vape need to be mutually exclusive. Below, we’ll explore the place CBD should have in an avid beer drinker’s life.
CBD isn’t anything new. It has been present in Cannabis sativa buds since the very beginning, but just in such small concentrations that it didn’t become available in products until about a decade ago.
Ever since, CBD has been a major force in both pop culture and natural health. At this point, there’s hardly anyone who hasn’t heard of CBD, and you’d be surprised by the people you know who might have tried it.
One of the first things anyone who has used CBD will tell you is that it is relaxing. CBD will never get you high – no matter how much of it you use. It will, however, possibly make you feel relaxed or even sleepy.
Sound familiar? In the end, there’s more that CBD and beer have in common than they don’t. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves.
Which is better for relaxation: CBD or beer? Any beer enthusiast knows that beer is relaxing. This subtle approach to intoxication may offer many more joys along the way, but containing alcohol is beer’s defining feature.
The relaxation beer brings isn’t without potential drawbacks, however. Drinking too much of even the finest beer will leave you with a hangover – something that will never happen with CBD.
At the same time, there’s only so far that CBD can get in the quest for ultimate relaxation. It’s non-intoxicating, after all and sometimes, a little bit of intoxication is just what you need for real relaxation.
Before we go any further, let’s take a moment to reflect: Is there any reason to be viewing CBD and beer in exclusive or oppositional terms? Ask your doctor if you’re still not sure, but there’s very little reason to be concerned about CBD and beer interacting negatively under normal circumstances.
Using CBD and drinking beer during the same period of time, actually, might make both substances more effective in relaxing you. Where alcohol loosens you up and helps you let go of inhibition, CBD gently soothes you in both mind and body, potentially mitigating some of alcohol’s less-wanted effects.
Putting the inherent safety of alcohol aside for a moment, is there any reason in particular to believe that drinking beer and taking CBD might make either compound more dangerous? Scientists still aren’t sure, but it doesn’t appear that CBD and alcohol compete for digestive enzymes to the point that an alcohol overdose becomes significantly more likely.
CBD might, however, make you feel drunker than you would from one or two beers. If there’s a particular beer you’ve been saving for the right occasion and want to savor, therefore, taking some CBD before you start drinking it might be a smart move.
Visualize your next trip to the bar. After you order your favorite beer, you take a packet of CBD gummies out of your jacket pocket and pop one in your mouth. Friends around you want to take part too, and you all drift into an amiably relaxed state together.
This ideal situation might not be achievable every time you use CBD and drink beer at the same time. As you can see, however, CBD has the power to become the garnish on top of any enjoyable night of beer drinking – whether alone or with others.
Unless your doctor says otherwise, there isn’t any particular reason you should be thinking about CBD and beer in exclusive terms. Whether it’s other cannabinoids or hops, CBD likes making friends, and alcohol doesn’t seem to mind CBD much either. What’s holding you back from helping them get acquainted?
