The Details

The 22nd Great International Beer, Cider, Mead & Sake Competition — www.gibcc.com — takes place in Bridgeport, Conn., on October 27.

This is a competition for professionally made beers, ciders, meads and sakes. — It's not a public festival.

In 2017, the Great International Beer & Cider Competition received 835 entries — domestic and imported.

We expect more entries this year, and I hope you’ll enter your beers, ciders, meads and sakes.

Judging Format

The judging format is blind. The judges are all professional brewers, cider, mead and sake makers plus people from the retail and distribution sides of the beer, cider, mead and sake businesses and some staff writers from Brewing News, Yankee Brew News, Modern Brewery Age and Modern Distillery Age, the media sponsors.

The Great International Beer, Cider, Mead & Sake Competition is a professional peer-review judging panel.

If you can make it to Bridgeport, Conn., on October 27, you’re welcome to be a judge. Let us know.

The Winners

Winners will receive medals and be publicized nationally.

There will be an awards ceremony a few weeks after the competition.

All entries will receive judge comment forms.

An International Competition

Even if you don’t sell your beers, ciders, meads or sakes in the Northeast, we hope you’ll enter the Great International Beer, Cider, Mead & Sake Competition.

Each year we receive entries from all over the U.S. and the world.
