In keeping with its "can-do" attitude, Bell’s Brewery, Inc. has announced that it will begin packaging its best-selling Two Hearted Ale in 12-packs of 12-ounce cans in September.
“This is something we have been talking about for some time,” said Vice President Laura Bell. “Our fans have asked for it and it just makes sense considering all the places cans can go that bottles (glass) cannot.”
The 12-ounce cans will feature the same artwork as Bell’s 16-ounce Two Hearted cans, which debuted mid-2014. The company also produces 16-ounce cans of its Best Brown Ale, Smitten Golden Rye, and Winter White Ale.
The beer can, which celebrated its 80th birthday this year has been steadily increasing in popularity, accounting for 52 percent of all beer sales, according to the Beer Institute's most recent data. Bottles have dropped to 35 percent of sales, and draft accounts for the remaining 10 percent.
