Crazy Mountain Brewing Co. of Denver, Colorado recently announced that effective January 9 it has discontinued operations – both brewing production and taproom service – at its facility in Edwards, CO. For full details, read below.
Production at the Edwards facility had been a challenge due to size and capacity restraints since 2013. Those limitations resulted in the brewhouse being solely dedicated to the company’s Local’s Stash Reserve Series in 2016, when volume needs forced all other production to move to its larger Denver facility.
Crazy Mountain will be opening a new location in Eagle County later this summer, fulfilling their goal of maintaining a presence in the Vail Valley – their home since opening in 2010. The new facility, which has been in the planning and development stages for over a year, will serve as the brewery’s headquarters, and will feature a larger taproom, beer garden and increased-capacity brewing system.
“While it’s bittersweet to be leaving our first home in Edwards, where we made history by being the first production brewery in the county, we’re very excited about the opportunities that our growth has created. Being able to stay in the Valley, while having space to continue that growth and expansion, is extremely important to us.
We can’t wait to open our new home, and share it with everyone who has supported us through the years. It’s going to be that larger, more versatile space we desperately need, but equally as important – it will be a fantastic addition to our community,” said Kevin Selvy, Founder and Owner.
Crazy Mountain will continue full portfolio brewing operations in its Denver location, and will take on the Local’s Stash Reserve Series until the new space is ready for it to return to the mountains. Additionally, it will continue to serve its customers in its front range taprooms, and its soon-to-open newest location in the Village at Winter Park.
