Gnarly Barley Brewing Co. in Hammond, Louisiana has announced two releases, one called Bad Abbot, a Belgian-style Quad, and the other called SoGnar, a hopped-up Double IPA. Full details are below.

Bad Abbot is a gentle beast, coming in at 14% but drinking with an unexpected docility. Fruity esters on the nose give way to malty overtones of caramel and raisin that clean up into a surprisingly dry finish. The medium body enhances the nuanced sugars, avoiding a cloying or syrupy finish, instead portraying a pleasing array of dark fruits and molasses.
