There’s less than a month left to get your tickets to be a part of Park City history and participate in the inaugural Wasatch Brewery-Sunrise Rotary Shot Ski down the center of Main Street in Park City.

As a part of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Wasatch Brewery, in partnership with the Sunrise Rotary, beer lovers will line up from the top of Park City’s historic Main Street all the way to Heber Avenue, and raise one long ski (actually 335 skis bolted together) and take a “shot” of Wasatch’s 30th Anniversary Premium Ale.

Tickets for the fundraiser are $15, with all profits going to the Sunrise Rotary.  In addition to bragging rights, every participant will receive a bumper sticker to place on their car or their skis to show their participation in this momentous event.  The actual shot of beer will take place at 2:00, but revelers will be encouraged to come at noon and enjoy the beer garden that will be in place in the Wasatch Brew Pub parking lot from noon until six o’clock with games, a food truck and live music by the Utah County Swillers.  Of course, lots of Wasatch award-winning brews will be available for purchase as well!

“We are so excited to be partnering with Wasatch on breaking the record”, says Connie Nelson, Sunrise Rotary member.  “We will be providing volunteers to help coordinate the Shot Ski, and are currently in the process of bolting together the 335 skis that have been donated to the cause.  Our goal is to make this an annual event, growing bigger every year.  And we think that this inaugural Shot Ski is the perfect way to celebrate Wasatch’s 30th anniversary while raising money for a great cause!”

Says Squatters and Wasatch Chief Operating Office Doug Hofeling “Of course, there is also the matter of community pride.  Ski town rival Breckenridge, Colorado currently holds the record for the longest shot ski at 881 and since Park City already is known for the best ski resorts in the country, we also think that we can easily break the record for the best Shot Ski as well!  There’s nothing wrong with a little friendly competition – especially when it’s for a good cause!  We are also encouraging our local resorts to put teams together and for folks to dress up in costume – the key here is to have fun!”

Tickets are expected to sell out, so potential participants are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to www.wasatchbeers.com/shotski.
