Wicked Weed Brewing in Asheville, North Carolina has announced plans to attempt the Guinness World Record for Largest Tap Takeover at Raleigh Beer Garden.
The full details on the tap takeover, which will feature over 175 Wicked Weed brews, is below.
Raleigh, NC - Asheville based brewery, Wicked Weed Brewing will partner with Raleigh Beer Garden to attempt setting a Guinness World Record for Largest Tap Takeover on October 19th, 2019. Raleigh Beer Garden boasts roughly 350 taps from different breweries around the country, with over 175 taps providing unique beers from Wicked Weed during the event. “We are extremely excited to partner with Raleigh Beer Garden to showcase our full portfolio of beers and bring the Asheville brewpub experience to the Raleigh market,” said Justin Crouch, Sales Director for WWB. “ At Wicked Weed, we have always prided ourselves on our ability to make great beers across all styles. This event will display over 165 unique brands including flagships, brewpub favorites, rare verticals, and brand new offerings.”
Raleigh Beer Garden will be closed to the public from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM while Guinness judges verify the total taps. During that time, they will have two ticket packages available: General Admission or Rooftop VIP. There will be live music throughout the day, a photo booth, and games to see if attendees can beat some of the wackiest world records. “Our brewing team has created over 700 unique beers since we opened our doors in December, 2012,” said Crouch. “That means this event has been 6+ years in the making! Years of holding back kegs of brands that may never be made again. We are proud to be able to offer this many unique beers and share that in one space.”
Wicked Weed will also be featuring some of their most popular menu items to truly bring their full experience to Raleigh, including Hangover Chips, Bison Burger, Fried Chicken Sliders, & Brussels Sprouts. In addition to these menu items, RBG will be featuring several items incorporating different Wicked Weed beers.
“While Raleigh Beer Garden already holds one Guinness World Record, we cannot wait to claim yet another,” says Raleigh Beer Garden owner Niall Hanley. “We are excited to welcome the Wicked Weed team and their amazing brews to Raleigh with open arms!”
Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Hops for Hope; an event that raises funds for Children's Flight of Hope. CFOH is a 501c3 organization providing air transportation for children to access specialized medical care.
