Unibroue, out of Quebec, Canada, has released the Unibroue Passport App for smartphones and tablets featuring a 360-degree virtual reality game. Setting sail in an ancient ship, users go on a "Quest to the End of the World" to find riches and glory. The app also has information on the brewery's popular flagship beer La Fin du Monde, a tool for locating Unibroue products, opportunities to win prizes, and a cash back coupon for La Fin du Monde.
"Quest to the End of the World" is the first of four virtual reality games that will be available in the Unibroue Passport App this year. Two others will coincide with the release of new beers Éphémère Strawberry Rhubarb and Cherry Black Forest Cake Ale.
According to Jean-Yves Lacombe, trade marketing manager for Unibroue, the app offers a unique opportunity for the brewery. "The Unibroue Passport App is a great opportunity to socialize and have fun with our fans while staying top of mind and growing the relationship," Lacombe said.

North America (March 28, 2018) – With the new Unibroue Passport App that launched March 8, smartphones and tablets have become a portal for a 360⁰ virtual reality game called “Quest to the End of the World.”
Setting sail in an ancient ship, gamers must travel to the far ends of the globe in search of gold and spices. Along the way, they’ll learn about featured Unibroue flagship beer La Fin du Monde, encounter opportunities to win prizes − including an all-expenses paid trip to the brewery in Quebec, Canada − and receive a $1 cash back digital coupon via Checkout 51 for purchases of La Fin du Monde.
The Unibroue Passport App is available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. In-app notifications provide gamers with details about future themed games featuring new Unibroue beers as well as additional digital coupons, prize opportunities and more. Gamers may also use the Unibroue Finder to easily locate their favorite Unibroue beers anywhere they are sold.
Three more virtual reality games highlighting Unibroue beers are planned for 2018, including two featuring new beer releases Éphémère Strawberry Rhubarb and Cherry Black Forest Cake Ale.
The first 500 fans that downloaded the Unibroue Passport App received a beautiful gold decorated and engraved Unibroue tulip glass.

A partnership with Checkout 51 provides $1 cash back for La Fin du Monde purchases through April 22. How it works: Gamers receive a $1 digital coupon within the Passport App for La Fin du Monde. They must then create an account at Checkout 51, upload a photograph of the purchase receipt of the beer and apply the digital coupon within the account. The $1 cash back is then remitted to the user by check or direct deposit from Checkout 51.
The Unibroue Passport App launched March 8, and the La Fin du Monde promotion runs through April 22.
