Forbidden Root Brewery Celebrates Release of Sparkling Rose Ale

Forbidden Root Brewery in Chicago, Illinois has announced the release of Sparkling Rose Ale, a beer inspired by everyone's favorite pink wine. The beer is also brewed with grapes.

Exceedingly low IBUs (11) and a high ABV (10.2%) make this more of a sipper than a slugger, but it still makes for an exceptionally smooth beverage. The full description from the brewery can be found below.

Sparkling Rosé Ale

Grapes have been used occasionally in beer since almost the very beginning, so we thought: why wait for an occasion? This dry, crisp Blegian-style ale is tinged with the luscious scent of Niagara grapes, one of the varieties bred from the wild Vitis labrusca grapes native to North America. Their sunny aromatic character punches right through the malt, while a bit of hibiscus adds a blush in color and a hint of crisp tannin on the finish.
