Stillfire Brewing Releases New Quarantine Survival Beer to Help Raise Money for Atlanta-Based Nonprofit
Suwanee brewery releases new beer with a portion of proceeds being donated to local nonprofit The Meal Bridge, an organization that was started by 16-year-old Grey Cohen in an effort to support local restaurants while simultaneously providing meals for hospital staff.
Suwanee, GA – StillFire Brewing’s latest beer release comes at a time where the community could use a feel good way to give back. Simply titled “Quarantine Survival Beer,” the brewery’s newest easy drinking ale (available in 4-packs) encourages individuals to quarantine at home with a portion of proceeds from each beer going to pay local restaurants who are delivering meals to hospital workers through the nonprofit, The Meal Bridge.
Started by 16-year-old Grey Cohen, The Meal Bridge serves as a platform that allows people to purchase meals for local hospital workers on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic, while simultaneously supporting local restaurants. The organization came together under the direction of Grey, whose mother happens to work for Emory, and knows first hand how a free meal can go a long way for medical staff. “The Meal Bridge hopes to support our local restaurants while also providing meals to the healthcare workers on the front lines,” says Cohen. “Restaurants are paired with nearby hospitals, and the restaurant is paid directly for the meals that are ordered. Current restaurants delivering to Emory include Doc Chey’s, Fellini’s, Nina & Rafi, Community Q BBQ and Savage Pizza. We are also in talks of expanding to other area hospitals, including Northside, Piedmont and St. Joseph’s.” After just three days of active service, the Meal Bridge was able to provide enough meals to serve about 60 individual hospital workers at Emory University Hospital.
“At StillFire Brewing, we are proud to do our part to help in this time of need,” said Aaron Bisges, General Manager of StillFire Brewing. “Donating a portion of our Quarantine Beer funds to support The Meal Bridge program allows us to not only feed hospital workers who are on the front lines battling this virus, but also to support local restaurants who could use a little extra boost during this time.”
Available the weekend of April 10th, StillFire Brewing’s Quarantine Survival Beer is brewed in the tradition of all of their highly sessionable beers. Pouring a straw color with a creamy white head, the American Golden Ale balances light, sweet malt flavors with a floral hop character that results in a clean, crisp finish. 4-packs will be available for purchase at StillFire’s to-go window or curbside pickup Tuesday-Sunday from noon - 8pm or available to reserve online at https://stillfire.craftcellr.com.
