Can CBD Tinctures Make You High?

Can CBD Tinctures Make You High?

Before we can answer this question exhaustively, we may need to understand how CBD tinctures work.

CBD tinctures are usually made from strains of hemp that have high concentrates of CBD. To get this high concentration, solvents like alcohol, vinegar or glycerin can be used to extract an overdose of the medicinal properties in the hemp or cannabis plant. This can be preserved over a long period. Alcohol is mostly used in the preparation of tinctures as it further adds to its preservative properties.  This is used predominantly to relieve pain and anxiety.

The major benefits of tinctures are the ease of use and the fact that tinctures can last a lot longer. They are easily absorbed into the body and are very handy, so it is convenient to keep to the doses as they can be used on the go, at work, virtually anywhere.

How are tinctures taken?

They are usually taken orally by mouth, while most people resort to placing the droplets under their tongue as it works even faster that way. This is because they are absorbed rapidly into the bloodstream via the mucous membrane of the mouth. Tinctures are usually very concentrated. As such, doses should be limited to just a drop or two.

Do they cause any feeling of highness?

You may be worried about CBD having psychoactive properties that produce an excessive feeling of euphoria. Firstly, we must understand that CBD by itself does not have psychoactive properties or traces of it. In cannabis, there are over 100 cannabinoids that can be found. However, the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) effect is most pronounced as it is known to induce a feeling of highness.

CBD Tinctures are mostly isolated, meaning they contain no other cannabinoids except Cannabidiol itself. As such, CBD does not make you “high” due to not having any psychoactive properties.

Are there any side effects?

Currently, there are no side effects of its main constituent CBD, the tincture invariably is also free of side effects. Though tinctures work better than regular oils, many people may find tinctures quite nauseating due to their concentrated taste.

How long does it take for tinctures to work?

It depends on the strength of the tincture. This ranges from 50 to 5,000 milligrams (mg). Most people prefer something mid-range between 1,000 and 2,000 milligrams. If you are using CBD for preventive purposes or mild issues, then 500 milligrams will suffice. If it is for a more serious or pronounced ailment, stronger milligrams will suffice! Tinctures are usually sold in 30-milliliter bottles, so a 1,000-milligram CBD tincture will contain about 33 milligrams per milliliter. The higher the strength, the higher its cost and the more lasting its effect!

How can I get tinctures?

The cannabidiol industry, being relatively new, is prone to counterfeits. It is safe to buy only from vendors whose products have been tried and tested. Joy Organics being one of the pacesetters among retail and manufacturing outlets, can be trusted to deliver the right tinctures for optimum effectiveness.
