Searching through our ample beer fridge for today’s Pint Break, I spotted the perfect subject: New Belgium’s Slow Ride Session IPA!
First released in January, this sessionable 4.5 percent ABV brew is an excellent accompaniment to a sultry spring day or a quiet office cubicle. Eight hop varietals (with Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin top-billed) provide citrusy bursts of fruitiness in both the flavor and aroma. The low alcohol content could fool some people, easily making anyone a “Fool for the City.”
Now let me slip on my Foghat and rework the lyrics to that band’s seminal 70s rock song…
Slow ride, drinkin’ easy
Slow ride, drinkin’ easy
I’m in the mood
this beer is tasty and light
Eight hops are blended,
we can drink ‘em all night
Slow ride, drinkin’ easy
Slow ride, drinkin’ easy
It goes down, so smooth, got to get those hops one more time
Hold one, drink one, Slow Ride Session IPA you’re so fine
