BC: What’s your favorite aspect of this beer (flavor, aroma, etc.)?
Flavor -- it has a sweet dark fruit flavor of raisins, plums and dates with a hint of rosemary on a malty finish.
BC: Where does this beer’s name come from?
Old Reynard honors the English tradition of attaching the word "old" to barleywines and to denote the technique of performing an intensive brewing and aging process. Reynard the Fox is a literary cycle of medieval allegorical Dutch, English, French and German fables.
BC: Is this your “desert island beer?”
No, this is a nightcap and cigar beer.
BC: Can you describe this beer in 10 words or less?
Sweet dark fruit flavors, hint of rosemary and malty finish.
BC: Do you know a story – or have a personal story – that revolves around this beer?
We used fresh rosemary branches in the mash cut from a local garden.
BC: What's a good food pairing for this beer?
Strong cheese or a dessert. This beer has has strong flavors of its own and easily overpowers most main dishes.
