Nine Pin Ciderworks Marks 10-Year Milestone with Cider Re-releases and Tasting Room Renovations

Nine Pin Ciderworks, the pioneer farm cidery of New York State, located in Albany's vibrant warehouse district, is gearing up to celebrate a decade of crafting exceptional ciders this February. As part of the festivities, Nine Pin will reintroduce ten beloved cider flavors over the next ten months, starting with the fan-favorite Hunny Pear on February 28, 2024.

To enhance the celebratory experience, Nine Pin is treating patrons to a complimentary 6oz pour of their acclaimed Signature cider, recently hailed as a World Class Cider by Beer Connoisseur magazine, on February 28th. Additionally, the cidery will unveil specially designed labels for each re-released cider, featuring original acrylic paintings crafted with a unique blend of traditional techniques.

In collaboration with local talent Jacob Alejandro of Troy, New York, Nine Pin will offer specialty baked goods to pair with each cider release. Alejandro's culinary creations, like the delectable Hunny Pear Cake, promise to elevate the cider-tasting experience.

Nine Pin's journey began two years prior to its official opening in February 2014 when Co-founder Alejandro del Peral envisioned a cidery that celebrated New York's agricultural heritage. With the enactment of the farm cidery bill by former Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2013, Nine Pin emerged as the state's first farm cidery, crafting its flagship product, Signature, solely from locally sourced New York apples.

Over the past decade, Nine Pin has continually expanded its offerings, with sixteen cider varieties available year-round through distributors and numerous others featured in its tasting room. Notably, the cidery's commitment to environmental stewardship is evident through initiatives like the Nine Pin 26ers program, which raises funds for conservation efforts.

As part of its ongoing growth, Nine Pin secured an Empire State Development Grant in 2023 to enhance its indoor tasting room and manufacturing facilities. With renovations slated for completion by early April, visitors can look forward to an enhanced cider-tasting experience.

• September 2018 –– Nine Pin becomes available in New Jersey working with distributor Remarkable Liquids.

• March 2020 –– Nine Pin quickly shifted to shipping product direct-to-consumer across NYS when temporary special permissions were allowed from the NYSLA, due to the pandemic.

• April 2020 –– Through a partnership with VinoShipper, Nine Pin was available to consumers in 35 states and D.C.

• November 2020 –– Nine Pin became available in all New York Stewart’s Shops.

• June 2021 –– Nine Pin begins Mobile Bar services at private parties in a cleverly restored and renovated horse trailer.

• January 2022 –– Nine Pin begins using the NYS Grown and Certified seal, helping shoppers identify cider they can trust.

• January 2023 –– Nine Pin offers non-alcoholic juices and sparkling teas in its Tasting Room.
