Helles Lager by KC Bier Co. was judged under BJCP category 4A, Munich Helles.
A true and traditional example of the Munich Helles Style in every respect.
Light Golden in color, crystal clear with a medium white head and fine bead. The aroma was honey-like with a biscuity quality that complemented the pilsner malt bouquet.
The flavor was lightly malt-accented yet not cloyingly sweet with hints of grainy malt and noble hops. The hops are used in sedulous amounts in more of a supporting role while the body (as per style parameters) was medium in nature, well-conditioned and non-astringent.
A very sessionable beer, Helles Lager by KC Bier Co. was clean and refreshing, exemplifying the most popular everyday lager served in Germany.
