A classic style that almost every brewery makes. The aroma was very hoppy, with floral and citrusy notes indicating the presence of Cascade hops. The beer had a nice light straw color that was a bit hazy. Head retention and carbonation was low. An almost equal balance of malt and hops provided... Read More

Panic Button

Panic Button

Georgia
United States
Panic Button, Monday Night Brewing
Description

Panic Button is a Mixed Culture Amber aged with sour cherries and Tahitian vanilla. The aroma is reminiscent of cherry pie and toasted oak, with light floral notes. The malt backbone brings a touch of caramel, kiss of chocolate, and ripe stone fruit. This fruited sour finishes crisp with lingering notes of Fruit Roll-Ups and Jolly Ranchers.

Panic Button by Monday Night Brewing is being reviewed under the category of #28C (Wild Specialty) of the 2015 BJCP Guidelines. As indicated, this is a sour beer with an amber beer base made with sour cherries and Tahitian vanilla. The pour revealed a nice burgundy or dark red hue that was a bit... The aroma for this beer includes lightly burnt roasted malts and no discernible hops, which is fine for this style, though I don’t detect any sort of spices indicated with this beer either (cinnamon, nutmeg nor chocolate). The beer poured a dark amber in color with low carbonation. It had low... Read More

I was presented this beer by being told it was an IPA with coffee. Already, I'm thinking "clash of flavors." With that in mind, I proceeded with this beer cautiously. The initial aroma of this beer was a massive coffee character that made me question whether I opened a beer or a can of cold-... Read More

The American IPA BJCP category 21A  poured a very light straw color,  almost a blonde in some respects. Very good clarity and a light carbonation ringed the side of the glass. The aroma of this beer had hints of pineapple, pine and very little malt. The flavor, however, had an overwhelming taste...
