The Beer Connoisseur Set to Publish Annual Print Magazine and 10th Anniversary Edition

Atlanta, GA (January 6, 2020) The Beer Connoisseur® is excited to announce that tomorrow it is publishing its Winter 2020, Issue 46 and 10th anniversary edition titled The Beer in Review.

Each year, The Beer in Review features the top-rated beers reviewed in the publication’s year-round Official Review and awards the best breweries of the year based on collective highest-scoring beers. The edition also provides an insider’s look into important emerging trends within the beer industry with interviews and perspectives from some of the top minds on consumer trends, craft beer trends, restaurant trends, emerging beer styles and hops.

The issue is divided into three sections beginning with Industry Outlook. Here it analyzes 2019 consumer behavior via IRI Worldwide sales data and forecasts 2020 trends. It then looks at the craft segment’s ever-changing landscape with perspective from Lester Jones, Chief Economist for the National Beer Wholesalers Association on various topics – including the influx of hard seltzer, non-alcoholic craft, CBD/THC beers and hard kombucha. Finally, it looks at restaurant trends detailed with data from the National Restaurant Association and a discussion with Keith Schlabs, Co-Founder of Flying Saucer Draught Emporium.

The magazine’s second and headlining section is The Beer in Review, which compiles the Top 200 Beers of the Year featuring an impressive eleven world-class submissions complete with in-depth brewer Q&As, judge’s reviews and judge’s second opinions. It then acknowledges the #1-Rated Beer of 2019 and the highest-rated beers by popular style categories such as IPAs, fruit beers, strong Belgian ales and specialty wood-aged beers.

The Beer in Review concludes by awarding the top three breweries of the year with the collective highest-scoring beers in 2019.

The issue concludes with the Features section, which includes three stories covering Emerging Beer Styles, The Hop Report and Jim Koch and Sam Calagione Talk 2020 Trends. Herein the reader gains useful insight into trending hops in 2020, as well as what emerging beer styles are gaining momentum in the new year, including adjunct-free styles, India pale lagers and the continued resurgence of non-alcoholic styles. The magazine wraps with an interview with Jim Koch and Sam Calagione regarding the future of The Boston Beer Co. and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery following 2019’s merger.
