Belching Beaver Brewery Unveils Ohms Pale Ale Collaboration with Deftones

Belching Beaver Brewery is continuing its long-running partnership with Deftones with the release of Ohms Pale Ale, a limited-release beer inspired by the band’s 2020 album Ohms. The San Diego brewery and Deftones had been collaborating for five years at the time of the release, with previous beers taking inspiration from the band and its music, including White Pony IPA and Dia De Los Deftones Mexican-Style Lager.
Ohms Pale Ale is a 5.5% ABV pale ale brewed with Simcoe, Amarillo and Mosaic hops, giving it citrus, pineapple and light pine characteristics. The beer was scheduled for release on February 1, 2021, in 16-ounce four-packs across select U.S. markets. Because pandemic restrictions prevented the usual in-person launch events, Belching Beaver also planned an Instagram Live event to introduce the collaboration to fans.
The connection between the beer and the album goes beyond the name. Deftones have developed a distinctive visual identity across their record catalog, including the artwork for Ohms. SAN DIEGO – The brewery and Deftones continue their partnership, five years strong, with their latest release Ohms Pale Ale. Named after the band’s recent album, this beer ships out to retailers in select U.S. states via 16-ounce can four-packs on February 1.

These collaboration beers usually launch at events where customers can pick the brains of reps from the brewery about the new fare. Due to the pandemic, however, you’ll need to join Belching Beaver on Instagram Live on Thursday, January 28th to get all the brew-y details.

Each collaboration released has had a unique recipe and style. Past releases included a double-dry hopped IPA (White Pony), Mexican-Style Lager (Dia De Los Deftones), and a Brown ale (Good Morning Beautiful) just to name a few. Ohms stands as the first Pale Ale collab, and it does not disappoint.
