California Common

California Common

The California Common beer style (aka Steam Beer) as defined in the 2015 BJCP Style Guide is a variation on an American Amber Ale that provides drinkers with a more toasted, woody and minty hop character through the use of traditional American hops and toasted crystal malt. Light fruitiness should be expected from the rustic American hop varietals, though citrusy hop elements are misplaced. A toasty, grainy, caramel malt-based Amber beer.
