This beer pours a beautiful deep gold with a huge fluffy ivory head that hangs around for a long time and leaves rings of lace on the sides of the glass. A background malt aroma of fresh baked bread and bread crusts supports a substantial tropical fruit hop presence in the aroma with a bit of tangerine citrusy character and just a slight hint of cotton candy.
The flavor holds up the high expectations of the aroma with bread crusts and a smidge of toastiness, all supporting big piney and resiny hop flavors as well as tropical fruits and gooseberry – a fairly complex yet balanced hop flavor profile.
Loads of bitterness linger into a very dry but not too minerally finish – this beer is crisp and clean.
Pair this beer with anything off the grill or a medium-rare prime rib. The moderately high carbonation and bitterness both help with washing away the fat of the prime rib and cleansing your palate for that next juicy bite.
