Off The Line Hazy IPA by Garage Brewing Co. is being judged according to the 2021 BJCP Style Guidelines, Category 21C – Hazy IPA.

My glass arrives with nearly one-third of it being a fluffy, rocky off-white, thick and sticky head atop a cloudy/murky rich straw yellow beer. The juicy hop aroma rounds the corner and pulls my nose closer where I find heavy mango, pineapple and navel orange hops dominating this sample. Medium dough and grainy/neutral malt supports a heavy, juicy, tropical fruit-dominant hop profile with medium-high hop bitterness, and a dry finish.

The beer’s head sticks to the glass and leaves lacing as I take sip after sip from the glass. The hops seem to get juicy as I revisit sniff after sniff. Back to the flavor, this hop-dominant beer finishes dry and sweet, and tropical hops persist throughout the long finish. The body is medium and carbonation too. Light alcohol warmth, no creaminess or astringency.

Overall, this is a well-made beer that I really enjoyed drinking and contemplating. It is clean and displays a complex hop character atop a supportive malt base. Give me some orange sherbet to go along with this juicy sample or let me cool off from some spicy cuisine with a tall glass of this.
