This Session IPA pours a hazy, dark yellow color topped off by a massively thick head, which remained throughout the entirety of my sampling process. All sorts of dank, piney, grapefruit aromas burst from the glass, shaded by a touch of sweet malt on the end. Tasting reveals a soft yet firm bitterness that's supported by a malty crispness. Hop flavor was excellent for the style, complex in nature but with enough traditionally American IPA flavors to make it as comfortable as an old pair of jeans. It finished appropriately dry for the IPA style, and, as expected, did not finish with any alcohol notes that are prevalent in normal-strength examples.
This is a terrific session IPA -- one that you take to an all-day cookout and enjoy, without having to worry about the morning after or giving your taste buds "palate fatigue.". A welcome addition to a well-stocked beer fridge for any time of the year.
