About the Company

Bullets2Bandages was founded in San Diego in 2011 by Erik Spalding and Cole Evans just after they left active duty service as Explosive Ordnance Disposal officers in the Navy. The company has had a significant charitable mission since its earliest days, and thus far B2B has donated at least 15% of its profits to veteran charities on an annual basis while also offering significant branding and marketing assistance to its partner charities. 
After starting by making jewelry and accessories from demilitarized ammunition, B2B hit it big when it reverse-engineered a homemade .50 Caliber Bottle Opener that Erik had received from his Filipino Navy counterpart. B2B then began making its own bottle openers in the USA from recycled once-fired military-grade .50 caliber and 7.62mm casings—which are available with custom engraving with no order minimums, making them perfect gifts for birthdays, weddings, graduations, and retirements.
Joined in 2012 by Eric Montgomery (another classmate from their US Naval Academy days), B2B began to take advantage of its location in America’s Craft Beer Capital by moving into the craft beer market. Fans of craft beer turned out to be just as enthusiastic as the military population about B2B’s products, and they responded quickly to B2B’s combination of cool products with a charitable mission.
