Rogue Ales & Spirits Announces 2020 Santa’s Private Reserve Peppermint Bark Milk Stout

Rogue Ales & Spirits in Newport, Oregon has announced the release of its 2020 Santa's Private Reserve Peppermint Bark Milk Stout. Full details are below.

NEWPORT, Ore. — This holiday season, Rogue Ales & Spirits and the one and only Santa Claus are releasing a Peppermint Bark Milk Stout as the 2020 edition of their much-anticipated Santa’s Private Reserve. This rich and warm stout is a confectioner’s dream and a must for any holiday celebration.

“Santa’s vision for this year’s Private Reserve came to him in the candy cane forest where he was busy harvesting peppermint bark to make one of his favorite treats,” says Rogue Brewmaster, Joel Shields. “He called us and ecstatically blurted out, “Peppermint bark milk stout!” We knew exactly what he meant and got right to work brewing up our 2020 Santa’s Private Reserve. Santa was elated with the results, and we think you will be too.”

Peppermint and dark chocolate are prominently displayed on the nose and carry through to the very last drop. The refreshing peppermint and velvety dark chocolate taste like the holidays in a glass. This beer is the full package and is certain to brighten up even the worst days of winter.

“I always look forward to my annual trip to Newport, Oregon to brew our annual Santa’s Private Reserve,” says Santa Claus. “This year’s Peppermint Bark Milk Stout is a real treat that pairs perfectly with my favorite sugar cookies.”

StillFire Brewing in Suwanee, Georgia has announced the release of two new brews. Breaking Blonde blonde ale will be released in cans this week, and The PHILosopher IPA will makes its debut on draft. Full details are below.

StillFire Brewing's new DOUBLE IPA is a tribute to our 2020 Great American Beer Fest medal-winning brewmaster, Phil Farrell. Clocking in at a big 9.1% with 95 IBUs, our ode to controlled excess is a blend of 5 old -school Pacific NW hops (Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe, Tomahawk, and Zeus) that combine in an explosion of pine resin, grapefruit and woodiness. It is unapologetically bitter (unlike Phil) with a touch of caramel malt to remind you that someone will smack you if all you do is enjoy the aroma rather than drink. We double dry hopped this incredible  beer to ensure the aroma and flavor never quit. ON TAP THIS FRIDAY!

Breaking Blonde is a 5.3% blonde ale with light maltiness, a touch of fruitiness, a hint of flowery hops and just a whisper of corn sweetness. The smooth, clean and balanced malt flavor that has just enough hop character to make it your new go-to beer. Easy drinking, approachable and available in 4-Packs this Friday!

Flying Dog Brewery Unveils Apple Pie Blonde Ale

Flying Dog Brewery in Frederick, Maryland has debuted a new brew called Apple Pie Blonde Ale. Full details can be found below.

Frederick, Md. – Inspired by the season’s best fruit-filled baked good, Flying Dog Brewery today announced the release of Apple Pie, a Brewhouse Rarities Blonde Ale. This crisp, spiced brew starts shipping to distributors Friday, November 6th.

Bursting with classic fall flavors like sweet baked apple and traditional warming spices, this 7.2% ABV blonde ale tastes like it came straight out of Grandma’s kitchen. Instead of using overly artificial flavors, Flying Dog’s innovative brewers used real apples and specialty ingredients like vanilla, nutmeg and cardamom to achieve an authentic flavor profile.

“The flavors in this seasonal specialty are perfectly balanced to fool your tongue into believing it’s the real thing,” said James Maravetz, VP of Marketing at Flying Dog Brewery. “Apples are such a quintessential fall flavor, and now you can have all of the crisp, apple flavor you love without paying to spend hours picking your own.”

The idea for Apple Pie was pitched by a fall-loving, plaid-clad employee as part of the brewery’s Brewhouse Rarities program. Apple Pie also marks the final Brewhouse Rarities release for 2020.

Apple Pie Blonde Ale will begin shipping to distributors Friday, November 6, 2020 in 6-packs of 12 oz bottles.

Wild Leap Brew Co.'s Three Harvest Fall 2020 Features Cascade Hops

Wild Leap Brew Co. in LaGrange, Georgia has announced the Fall 2020 release of its Three Harvest Double IPA. This rendition features Cascade hops. Full details are below.

Wild Leap’s Three Harvest Double IPA returns with a fall crop of hydroponically grown Cascade hops, fresh off the bines. Three Harvest is Wild Leap’s collaboration with hydroponic hop farm, Extreme Green Farms Auburn, Alabama. The fall release of Three Harvest Double IPA (8.2%) hits shelves today.

Three Harvest is an off-season Fresh Hop Double IPA. Named for the amount of harvests the hydroponic crops are capable of producing each year, the Cascade hops featured in this beer are harvested just days before the ale is brewed. Timing with each harvest is critical, as the hops need to be harvested, transported and introduced to the kettle as soon as possible.

“Working with hydroponic hops is a fun challenge for us. We’re learning the in’s and out’s of the hydroponic hop world from someone extremely knowledgeable in the craft,” says Chris Elliott, Wild Leap’s Chief Brewing Officer. “Ralf DuToit, Head Hop Farmer at Extreme Green Farms, is a hydroponic guru. Working alongside him on Three Harvest, we’ve gained hard-to-find experience using fresh hops and we’ve only just gotten started.”

Short’s Brewing Co. Releases “Super Hoppy Holidays” Variety Pack Aiming to Bring Joy to 2020

Short's Brewing Co. in Elk Rapids, Michigan has announced the release of a new holiday variety pack to try and "bring joy to 2020." Full details are below.

Elk Rapids, Mich. – Every year Short’s Brewing Co. rewards their legions of fans with a very special release at the start of the holiday season—The Super Hoppy Holiday variety pack.

Hop-heads rejoice, because this pack packs a punch.

In a larger format than previously released, the 2020 Super Hoppy Holiday offering comes in an 18 pack of 12oz cans. There are six IPAs from Short’s vast portfolio, and three of each can.

Pulling off a pack like this is a huge undertaking for the Michigan brewer, demanding tons of tank space and two days spent hand-packing each individual case. It’s truly a labor of love to their consumers.

“With the increased demand we’ve been experiencing, it would have been easy for us to skip this variety pack to catch up on flagships. But after the insanity of 2020, we wanted to spread a little extra holiday cheer this season.” Scott Newman-Bale, Chief Executive Officer of Short’s Brewing Company stated. “We did our best to select some of our most sought after brands and give some love to products we haven’t put out in a while.”

So, what’s on deck?

We took our blend #2 and aged it on banana purée, freeze dried bananas, Madagascar vanilla, Honduran cocoa nibs and a house made peanut butter using boiled peanuts, powdered peanut butter, muscadavo sugar and marshmallow cream to create the “king” of pastry stouts. Notes of banana bread, sweet peanut brittle, mallow cream and milk chocolate, with the malt and barrel character in the background providing a nice base. Thank you, thank you very much.
