Fort Collins, CO. - Odell Brewing, a regional craft brewery based in Fort Collins, Colorado, has announced it will immediately donate $160,000 to four partner organizations who provide support to Northern Colorado residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donation comes by way of Odell Brewing’s Growing Fund, managed for the last seven years by The Community Foundation of Northern Colorado. Donations will be distributed to four organizations in the amount of $40,000 each. Recipients include Homeward Alliance, Neighbor to Neighbor, Food Bank for Larimer County, and Meals on Wheels.

Highland Brewing Co. Releases New Year-Round Beer: Rising Haze IPA

Highland Brewing Co. in Asheville, North Carolina has announced a new year-round beer called Rising Haze IPA. Full details from the brewery are below.

ASHEVILLE, NC — North Carolina’s largest native brewer is announcing the release of Rising Haze IPA -- a hazy IPA brewed with Citra, Mosaic and Galaxy hops -- as the latest addition to its year-round lineup. Named with hazy landscapes in mind, the new beer will be distributed across Highland’s Southeastern distribution footprint in 12-ounce cans in late April.

“This is our first virtual and package-only beer release,” said Leah Ashburn, Highland Brewing Company family-owner and president. “While we shifted our focus towards protecting our team and our community during the COVID-19 outbreak, we maintain our spirit and our promise to keep moving forward. The multiple meanings of the name Rising Haze are not lost on us. We hope that this release adds a new experience, even as other experiences are limited, and reminds us to look ahead to brighter days.”

Although the brewery has been experimenting with small-batch releases of hazy IPAs for several years, Rising Haze IPA represents Highland’s first widely distributed hazy IPA. At 7% ABV and 35 IBUs, Rising Haze is big and fruity with natural hazy and vibrant notes of citrus, pineapple, and apricots.

Continuum Distilling Launches RELIEF Drops to Benefit Area Breweries

Continuum Distillery in Waterbury, Connecticut has announced a new limited-release spirit with grain, can and hops to benefit its newly launched CT Brewery Relief Fund. Full details are below.

WATERBURY, Conn.– RELIEF Drops is Continuum Distilling’s limited release spirit, currently available for pre-order, to benefit its newly launched CT Brewery Relief Fund. Working with area breweries, including Black Hog Brewing and Charter Oak Brewing (with more to be added), Continuum is working to not only rescue “trimmings” from the beer brewing process but also kegs that are expiring with restaurants and bars temporarily closed.  With the 50th anniversary of Earth Day being celebrated on April 22, it’s important to note that these products are typically dumped into area waterways.

In addition to helping the environment, $10 from each bottle of RELIEF will be placed in the new CT Brewery Relief Fund, allowing Continuum to hire out-of-work staff members to help with pick-ups and production of this new line, as well as distribute a share to financially assist out-of-work employees from breweries donating product to create RELIEF.

It has flourished by creating personal relationships with the bar community. Molson Coors Beverage Co. Debuts Vizzy Hard Seltzer with Antioxidant Vitamin C

Molson Coors has announced the launch of its Vizzy hard seltzer line featuring antioxidant vitamin C. Full details on this new beverage are below.

CHICAGO — After first being announced in December, Vizzy Hard Seltzer is now available nationwide and features four bright and refreshing flavors. The new hard seltzer is the first to feature antioxidant vitamin C and is available in four unique flavor combinations: Pineapple Mango, Black Cherry Lime, Blueberry Pomegranate and Strawberry Kiwi. Vizzy is gluten free and boasts 100 calories, 1 gram of sugar and 5% alcohol by volume per can.

In the booming hard seltzer category, Vizzy offers something truly special as the first hard seltzer with antioxidant vitamin C. Vizzy is made with the acerola cherry, an antioxidant vitamin C rich superfruit. In fact, acerola cherries contain roughly 30 times more vitamin C per cup than oranges.

“The hard seltzer category is becoming more crowded with many brands following the same playbook,” said Elizabeth Hitch, Director of Hard Seltzers. “We created Vizzy to have all of the things the other hard seltzers have but with a meaningful addition that drinkers actually care about, antioxidant vitamin C.
