Bourgogne des Flandres by Brouwerij Timmermans was evaluated as a Flanders Red Ale per the BJCP 2021 Style Guidelines (23B).

A large poofy head of tan-colored tiny bubbles fades slowly and leaves Belgian lace on the glass. The beer is a very clear copper color with just a slight tinge of orange. The aroma has light caramel notes and a moderate golden raisin fruity character. Hints of cherry show up in the aroma as the beer warms. Hints of orange and orange zest start off the flavor, filled in with moderate toffee malt sweetness, echoing the medium golden raisin character of the aroma. There is almost none of the typical tartness or sourness of the Flanders Red style, and the red wine comparison is very low with low tannic notes. The body is medium with a sweet toffee and cherry finish that lingers. Overall, I was expecting more tartness and less sweetness, but this is still a tasty beer. With the caramel and sweetness, this beer would pair nicely with a simple garlic and black pepper spiced braised butterflied chicken breast and a side of asparagus.
