H2Roads Passion Fruit Hard Seltzer by Two Roads Brewing Co. is being evaluated as a hard fruited seltzer with guidelines created by The Beer Connoisseur, which can be found here.

This product has a unique appearance with a color akin to pineapple juice. The head is slightly off-white, sparse and thin and vanishes immediately. The clarity is decidedly hazy but falls just short of being completely opaque. The appearance sets the stage by making it known that this hard seltzer was likely crafted with real fruit. The aroma is pleasant with bright notes of tropical passion fruit and some undertones of freshly squeezed lemon. Overall the aroma presents itself as fruit-forward and clean.

The flavor is a bit lacking after having set an expectation for big passion fruit after experiencing the aroma. That being said, passion fruit is present in a subdued manner and has had its sugars fully fermented, leaving a dry finish that leads to a more refreshing experience and greater drinkability. Acidity is well-balanced, especially considering that passion fruit presents itself as tart. Moderate carbonation is present with an impression of more effervescence due to the lack of body and dry finish. This is a very good hard seltzer that showcases passion fruit well. With its easy-drinking tropical character it is an excellent choice for warm-weather enjoyment.
