Beer Here: Dogfish Head / Victory / Stone Saison du BUFF

Keep an eye out for this collab from some of America’s top brewers – Saison du BUFF, which stands for “Brewers United for Freedom of Flavor”, a foundation formed in 2003 in protest of bland lager.

“When we first came up with the idea for BUFF, we were on a mission to protest the flavorless, industrialized facsimiles of beer that dominate the marketplace,” explains Koch. “The thought was that if three brewers from different parts of the country banded together to form a coalition, it might help the rest of the world notice the incredible revolution going on within the craft beer world. Fast forward to now, and we’re brewing Saison du BUFF to continue honoring the serious strides craft brewers have made in our industry…and well, it’s a favorite of Sam, Bill and mine!”

First brewed at Stone in 2010 with all three brew-brothers present, this year’s recipe is a dry-hopped saison with herbs infused, ringing in at 6.8% ABV and 52 IBUS.

The Pike Entire Barrel Aged Stout Beer
Judges Ratings
Description

Back in the height of summer, Head Brewer Art Dixon placed Pike high gravity (Imperial) stout into Woodinville Whiskey Barrels to age. Months later, after the barrels have imparted creamy vanilla and whiskey flavors, Pike brewers blended the barrel-aged stout with our classic Pike XXXXX Stout. The end product is Entire;  a deep and rich beer that beautifully balances coffee and milk chocolate tones with a wee bit of whiskey flavor. This beer is coveted by Entire fans, many of whom buy several of these wax-dipped bottles to age in their beer cellars.
