Heavy Seas Beer Collaborates with Max's Taphouse and BARCS on Pooch Power Pilsner

Heavy Seas Beer in Baltimore, Maryland has announced a collaboration beer with Max's Taphouse and BARCS called Pooch Power Pilsner. Full details on this release are below.

BALTIMORE — Heavy Seas Beer is excited to announce the next release from its 15 Barrel Brewhouse, Pooch Power, an unfiltered Pilsner. This beer will be available in 4-packs of 16 oz. cans and on draft in the Heavy Seas Taproom at the brewery during the official release on Friday, April 17, and at its annual Pups & Pints event on Sunday, April 19. Max’s Taphouse will also be having a draft only release of the beer on Saturday, April 18th. A portion of all Pooch Power 4pack sales at the brewery, and Pooch Power draft sales at Max’s, will be donated to the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS).

“Sometimes simple and classic is best. It doesn’t get any more classic in Baltimore for craft beer enthusiasts than Max’s Taphouse,” says Heavy Seas Brewmaster, Christopher Leonard. “When developing a beer with them to help benefit our fine furry friends through BARCS, we opted to brew a Franconian-style Kellerpils. Imported German pilsner malt with just a hint of Vienna malt for the slightest bready character blends with Perle, Hallertau, and Strisselspalt hops for a classy, clean, refreshing, golden brew that is eminently quaffable.”

Baxter Brewing Ceases Dine-In and Bar Service Due to the Coronavirus

Baxter Brewing Co. in Lewiston, Maine has ceased its dine-in and bar service at the brewery, allowing only to-go orders for a short window. Full details from the brewery on this decision are below.

AN UPDATE REGARDING COVID-19

We make this next announcement with an extremely heavy heart; after much deliberation and with the safety of our staff and patrons being our top priority, we have decided to cease all dine-in and bar service at The Pub, effective immediately. This was not a conclusion that we arrived at easily, but based on Federal and Local guidelines, we will no longer be open for regular service.

We used yesterday, a day usually spent enjoying great beer with friends and family, to allow the team time to construct the best method for offering beer to go in a safe and efficient manner. We will launch daily specials and some great pricing on take-home crowlers from our speciality lines and move forward with our scheduled release of Window Seat in 12 ounce 6 packs today.

Beginning today, Wednesday, March 18th the Pub will be open for “To-Go” beer sales only, between 4 PM-7 PM. This is an ever-evolving situation so please understand that this may change as we are responding to this situation as proactively and responsibly as possible.
